What We Do

The GFWC Woman’s Club of New Tampa is a group of local women who volunteer together to improve our community. We are more than just a social club; we are a "hands-on" force for good in the Tampa Bay area.

As a member of GFWC International, we are part of one of the world's oldest women’s volunteer organizations, celebrating over 135 years of service.

We align with GFWC Florida initiatives to ensure a unified voice for advocacy and charity across the Sunshine State.

📍 Local Service

Our club focuses on New Tampa, addressing local needs from food insecurity to supporting students in our neighborhood schools.

Our Core Programs

🏛️ Civic Engagement & Outreach

Local Impact: Honoring local First Responders, military, and veterans. We provide essential supplies for Tampa-area shelters and assisted living facilities.

State & National: We advocate for legislative changes that support veterans and first responders, aligning our voices with GFWC Florida and GFWC International initiatives.

🎨 Arts & Culture

Local Impact: Organizing art supply drives for children in hospitals and foster care, and supporting local theatre, including programs for people with disabilities.

State & National: Our members participate in GFWC art and writing contests, showcasing local talent on a broader stage while supporting the national mission to promote cultural awareness.

📚 Education & Libraries

Local Impact: Expanding literacy through student scholarships, book swaps, and gifting books to youth. We also maintain local free libraries to ensure community-wide access to reading.

State & National: Partnering with national literacy organizations and supporting GFWC's scholarship funds to promote higher education across the country.

🌿 Environment

Local Impact: Stewardship through neighborhood road and water cleanups. We also focus on educating our members on diverse ways to support and protect Florida's unique natural ecosystem.

State & National: We support GFWC’s global commitment to sustainability and conservation, participating in state-wide initiatives to preserve Florida’s natural resources for future generations.

🏥 Health & Wellness

Local Impact: Improving community well-being through self-care and fitness workshops, nutritional education, and hosting wellness-focused guest speakers.

State & National: We partner with GFWC Affiliate Organizations to raise awareness for mental health, heart health, and disease prevention on a national scale.

💜 Domestic & Sexual Violence Awareness

Signature Program: We help survivors rebuild their lives by donating and collecting essential items (Success Kits and Hope Totes) and educating members on awareness and prevention.

💙 Advocate for Children

Junior Special Project: We focus on providing direct support and volunteering with children in foster care, as well as supporting Camp Boggy Creek for seriously ill youth.

Honoring 172 female veterans with a historic flight to D.C. memorials—a major initiative of GFWC Florida supported by our club.
